WESTERN PROVINCE MOTOR CLUB & KILLARNEY STATUS DURING COVID-19 LOCKDOWN:
MSA-SANCTIONED MOTORSPORT EVENTS ARE PERMITTED SUBJECT TO SEVERE RESTRICTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS, INCLUDING A TOTAL BAN ON SPECTATORS AND A STRICT LIMIT ON THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE PERMITTED ACCESS TO THE FACILITY ON RACE DAYS.
HOWEVER, THE CLUB HAS PARTNERED WITH A BROADCAST PARTNER TO LIVESTREAM EVENTS AT THE CIRCUIT WHENEVER POSSIBLE, SO YOU DON’T MISS ANY OF THE ON-TRACK ACTION.
THE MSA RESTRICTIONS ALSO DO NOT ALLOW THE OPENING OF BOMAS ON RACE DAYS.
A REGISTER IS COMPILED BEFORE EACH EVENT AND ONLY THOSE ON THE REGISTER ARE PREMITTED ACCESS TO THE FACILITY, AND THEN ONLY AFTER CHECKS HAVE BEEN CARRIED OUT, INCLUDING THE COMPULSORY WEARING OF FACE MASKS AT ALL TIMES, STRICT SANITISING PROTOCOLS AND TEMPERATURE SCREENING OF ALL COMPETITORS AND CREW ATTENDING.
BEARING IN MIND THAT THE PANDEMIC IS BY NO MEANS OVER AND THE RISK OF INFECTION REMAINS HIGH, WE MUST BE SEEN TO BE ABSOLUTELY 100 PERCENT COVID-19 COMPLIANT AND TO PREVENT ANY CHANCE OF FURTHER EVENTS NOT BEING PERMITTED AT THE CIRCUIT.
MEANWHILE, ALL TESTING AT KILLARNEY IS PERMITTED IN TERMS OF THE EMERGENCY AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY REGULATIONS.
THE KILLARNEY MAIN CIRCUIT IS AVAILABLE TO HIRE FOR TESTING ON WEDNESDAYS, THURSDAYS AND FRIDAYS. CONTACT RHONETTE ROSSOUW AT RHONETTE@WPMC.CO.ZA FOR MORE INFORMATION AND TO BOOK YOUR SLOT.
WPMC members who occupy garages and workshops at the facility may access these premises daily (Monday to Sunday) between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm to work on their race vehicles.
Wearing of face masks covering the nose and mouth at all times is required and compliance with the questions and tests at the entrance is essential, including advising security which garage is being visited.
All persons entering the premises will be asked to have their temperature taken with a no-contact, infra-red thermometer. If you refuse to have your temperature taken or your temperature is above 37.5 degrees C you will not be allowed access to the facility.
All persons entering the premises will be required to make a Declaration of Health at the gate upon entering. Should the information provided be contrary to the regulated safety measures, such persons will be refused access.
To comply with social distancing requirements, a maximum of two people will be permitted in a single-car garage; this number will naturally increase for double garages. Social gatherings in garages are not permitted.
WE THANK OUR MEMBERS, OUR SPONSORS, OUR STAFF AND THE EXTENDED FAMILY OF KILLARNEY MOTORSPORT FANS FOR THEIR UNWAVERING SUPPORT IN THIS VERY DIFFICULT TIME.
