LOCKDOWN LEVEL 4 AND KILLARNEY

LOCKDOWN LEVEL 4 AND KILLARNEY

LOCKDOWN LEVEL 4 AND KILLARNEY

As from Friday 1 May, South Africa moved from Risk Level 5 to Risk Level 4, by which we still have stringent restrictions in place. The complete ban on sporting events and using of sporting facilities remain in place and it is unknown when these restrictions will be lifted.

While the track remains closed and there are no planned events, work continues behind the scenes on the following important aspects to Killarney’s immediate and longer-term future:

  • Finalisation of the lease renewal strategy and application including obtaining the support of many prominent and high-profile personalities in world motorsport.
  • Planning for the Motorsport Festival in December.
  • Devising and implementing ongoing cost-cutting measures and applications for financial assistance as offered by Government and other Funds.
  • Submission of a joint document, driven by MSA and crafted by Adv Andre Bezuidenhout, whereby Killarney, Kyalami, Zwartkops and Aldo Scribante will seek relief and permission to operate on a limited scale for the benefit of the engineering and motor industry during the phased end to lockdown.

We wish you good health in this time of stress, and look forward to welcoming you back to Killarney before too long.

Sincerely

WPMC TEAM
