MOONLIGHT DOG WALK 4 OCTOBER 2019 – REVIEW

KILLARNEY GOES TO THE DOGS – FOR A GOOD CAUSE!

Barking replaced the sound of revving engines at Killarney International Raceway on the evening of Friday October 4 as hundreds of dogs of all shapes, sizes and colours, along with their equally varied humans, celebrated World Animals Day with a moonlight dog walk.

The registration hall featured vendors offering all manner of goodies for dogs and people, including a food court, craft beer, wine tasting and live music, and each dog received a Woofy Bag sponsored by Hills.

The walk was led by Sassy Sunshine and her human, Mayoral Committee member for safety and Security Alderman JP Smith – that’s him in the centre of the lead picture.

The target was to get 1000 paws – 250 dogs and their humans – in aid of the Cape Animal Welfare Forum’s efforts to help animals living within indigent communities across the Cape Metropole by providing a welfare veterinary hospital service concentrating on important facets such as sterilisation and primary health care.
