07 Aug OBITUARY – MIKE CORKER – 3 AUGUST 2023
RIP Michael Corker
It was with deep shock and profound sadness that we learned of the passing of CP Security supervisor Michael Corker, fatally stabbed in a senseless squabble over entry to a rugby match in Wellington on the evening of Thursday 3 August.
For many years Michael was the leader of the CP Security personnel at Killarney events, working closely with Killarney staff members to ensure the safety of all attending our events. He was a popular and much valued member of the Killarney family, with his friendly smile and calm demeanour under even the most trying of circumstances.
“It’s not a problem,” he would say, “It’s a challenge,” and quietly defuse the situation by example.
His professionalism, depth of experience and attention to detail, allied to a compassionate nature, a willingness always to lend a helping hand and an uncanny ability to read a crowd, will be sorely missed at Killarney. Our hearts go out to his wife Wendy and their three daughters, Robyn, Melissa, and Candice, as well as all at CP Security. Our thoughts and prayers are with them in this tragic time.
