At the penultimate round of the National Extreme Festival at Killarney on Saturday 13 September, Coetzee won both races however due to a penalty of 30 seconds being handed to him, he dropped from first to fourth in his class during race 2.

Although this may seem to be an inconvenience for the Capetonian, he remains in the class championship lead with a whopping 21 points, with only 14 points on the table at the final round at Zwartkops on Saturday 25 October.
