19 May RIP Seraaj Rylands

The Killarney family are shocked and saddened to hear of the sudden passing of master tuner Seraaj Rylands in Johannesburg on Sunday 18 May, at just 50 years of age.

Everybody knew Uncle Seraaj; a big man in every way, he was a constant presence at Killarney’s Drag Racing events, always approachable, always ready with advice or a helping hand, even if you weren’t one of his customers at Performance Solutions Motorsport.

Highly respected in his field throughout South Africa, Seraaj was an expert on all types of Toyota engines, but was best known as the 2JZ King, for his expertise in helping his customers achieve astonishing performance from Toyota’s renowned high-tech straight-six engines.

Nevertheless, he remained grounded and humble, always prouder of his family than of the mechanical miracles he achieved – and it is to his family and his circle of friends that our hearts go out at this sad time.

His passing leaves a huge gap in the Killarney drag-racing community. Uncle Seraaj, we miss you, we mourn you, but we will not forget you.
