17 Sep PERFORMANCE CAR TRACK DAY 14 SEPTEMBER 2019 – REVIEW
KILLARNEY’S FIRST PERFORMANCE CAR TRACK DAY A ROARING SUCCESS
The first performance car track day at Killarney International Raceway, held in perfect spring weather on Saturday 14 September drew exactly the same response from each one of the more than 50 drivers and 60 passengers on the day:
“When can we do it again?”
Led by a strong contingent from the BMW Car Club of Cape Town, in Blue Propeller bolides ranging from a 1990’s 528 in mint condition to a raucous crew of M2, M3 and M4 pilots and a quiet gentleman with an infectious grin in an i8 hybrid, the rest of the participants brought to the circuit an eclectic mix of musclecars, GT cars and exotics.
Among them were Porsches, Lotuses, a Jaguar F-Type, a McLaren MP4 12C, a Nissan GT-R and two true automotive aristocrats: a 1989 Ferrari Testarossa and a mid-2000’s Lamborghini Murcielago.
Presenter Paul Simon was backed up by event sponsors Eugene Herbert and Eugene Nourse of Masterdrive, as well as top instructors from the Western Province Motor Club, while the girls from Stilettos Revue Bar kept the participants hydrated and gave the supercars a whole lotta love.
