17 Aug RACE REPORT: RALLYCROSS – 14 AUGUST 2021
DANCING IN THE DUST AT KILLARNEY RALLYCROSS

It’s all too easy to get out of shape when you can’t see where you’re going – and that seemed to be the problem for some of the drivers in local Rallycross at Killarney on Saturday 14 August, who wound up facing altogether the wrong way in the dusty conditions.
Nevertheless, the drivers praised the preparation of the circuit, saying the dirt sections were neither to wet nor too dry, and they seemed very willing to sling it sideways any time opportunity offered, whether on the dirt or the tarmac.
Which begs the question whether one of the reasons for the rapidly growing popularity of this ‘down and dirty’ category of motorsport is because they’re encouraged to do things that in other disciplines would be frowned upon. Just saying…
Adding to the fun on the day, and hugely enjoying himself, was WPMC lead commentator Gary Fleming; he’s in the gallery, driving the #13 Nissan Skyline.
